The Three

1 Chronicles 11:10-25
“Jashobeam, Eleazar, Shammah…the Three—the three mightiest warriors among David’s men.”

The Three were David’s closest and most loyal men. What characteristics made them so loyal? Their devotion to God, loyalty and trust in the appointed leader, and certainty in the vision were the qualities that made these men mighty. They were put in charge to oversee portions of his kingdom; they led many victories in battle, and would risk their lives for David. At times when everyone else ran, they would stand their ground with David no matter what the circumstances reflected around them. In any struggle, fear can keep us from taking a stand for God and from participating in God’s victories. In leadership, facing your fears head-on is a must as well as developing ourselves into individuals of integrity and loyalty. They are individuals who will stand their ground with you in Christ. If you are grounded in God, victory will come when you hold that ground. David recognized their loyalty to him was inspired by their devotion to God. Just as these men gave of themselves to serve David, we should put aside our own interests to serve the appointed leadership and each other. The foundation of our leadership team is based on the same qualities David’s most trusted men had. When we serve others, we are also serving God, thus honoring Him with our service. The leadership team has come together to serve each other, the students, and most importantly God. Are you just along for the ride? It takes time, devotion, and sacrifice to be a leader of quality and integrity. As we unify together, God will be honored. We are devoted to see our students empowered by God to live out loud what they believe.
